If something spills on to the rug: Bolt it up immediately  never rub or scrub or brush because you might be grinding the stain in to the rug rather than removing it,bolt &clean from the outside of  the stain to ward the centre this helps not to spread the spill when using a cleaning agent  apply the cleanser to a clean white cloth rather than directly to the stained area to avoid saturating the carpet.

If the spill or stain is oil based  you may need to purchase a dry cleaning solution available in stores for non oil based spots, mix one teaspoon none bleaching dry powder laundry agent with two cups of water wet the clean white towel with the mixture and go at it gently but diligently  Remove the soapiness with clear water and absorb the axcess moisture with an absorbent white towel.

STORING - If you to store your rug for a long period of time use sheet or cloth to wrap it but do not use an airtight plastic bag as they might rot or mildew in a plastic bag, Rugs need to breath so they could rooled up and kept somewhere dry and ventilated.
